In simple terms....Zelenskyy was a actor/comedian who happens to be Jewish.
In other simple terms, Putin can't stand there and admit defeat to a Jewish actor/comedian who happens to be President of the Ukraine.
Putin is supposed to be the genius, world-leader, manly-man, who leads a mighty nation.
The last thing on Earth that Putin can do....admit he got bested by a marginal character (on paper).

I had the same thought. Wouldn't it be great? Putin is nothing more than a bully, and he needs to be treated as such.
Around a week ago, someone brought up the resume of Putin. They'd written some 1-page sarcastic resume, which laid out the various failures of Russia since 2000. It's just not that impressive of a resume (I'd compare it to Bush II or Boris Johnson). If he'd gone out to convince the bulk of Russia to lay down their life because of an invader....he'd be a lousy salesman. But that Zelenskyy-guy? Oh, he's got something going in the Ukraine.
