22 May 2024: Five German News Stories

 1.  WELT had a piece discussing pharmacy shortages in Germany.  What the German pharmacy managers are saying....somewhere down the line, in the not so faraway future....you will have a prescription and have to 'wait' (meaning more than hours).

2.  Just a unusual amount of advertising on various TV networks....to encourage the 16 an 17 year old 'kids' to vote in the EU election.

About a month ago, some German journalist pointed out that things have evolved in Germany with teen-voters, and that maybe 20-percent will currently vote for the right-wing AfD Party.  When this trend gets up to one-third of the youth-vote, then there will be a fair amount of stress and worry in what they did.

3.  Lennart Pfahler wrote an opinion piece for WELT....suggesting there's a fair number of Germans now existing....who have lost trust in the 'foundations' of the German Federal Republic....this going  along with the current court case of the Reich crowd.

I might agree....but it goes beyond Germany....you see it throughout Europe, and the US.  Political 'trust' is a lot less than it  was 30 years ago.

4.  Odd piece of N-TV news this AM....BYD car company (Chinese) has been delivering a lot of their E-cars  to the north coast port.  Cars are currently sitting there, and someone has come notice a fair amount of mold on the interior.

5.  I noticed a political trend graphic on N-TV.....if elections were held today, the CDU would likely win with 32-percent of the vote.  2nd place?  SPD, with 16-percent.

Real loser?  Linke Party....with 3-percent, and they would not be given seats in the Bundestag.

Odd place for new BSW Party?  Next to last with 5-percent.  It almost seems like their voters were former Linke folks.
