Well....Focus brought this up today.
There's speculation, NOT real facts. Course, just to suggest this....means an investigation will start up.
Rumor 1: The Opera Palace in Munich....bought a few years ago through a Putin fake company. Only suggested. 300-million involved in that deal.
Rumor 2: The Sofitel Hotel in Frankfurt....suggested to be a Putin property. Prime real estate in the middle of town.
Rumor 3: The Kudamm-Karree in Berlin? Bought for Putin, via a middle-guy. That's the suggestion.
So, what'll happen? I'm guessing that the coalition government will be forced to review the speculation, and the middle-men. It may be discovered that forty-odd properties lead back to some Putin ownership, via middle-men.
Then the question is....what exactly will you do about this? Seize it? Court fight all the way? You could be talking about five years of hard lawyer and judge effort to take control of each single property.
Then you start to wonder....what's the total value? A mere billion Euro? Five billion Euro?
The final worry? Well....once you open this up....banks in Germany had to be somewhat aware of what was going on, and just kept their mouths shut.
