Moldovia Next?

In recent days....several news groups have suggested the idea that Moldovia will eventually have a Russia invasion problem.

So to discuss this....first, you need to talk about size.  Moldovia is about 10-percent larger than the state of Maryland.  You could drive east to west in about 40 minutes to cross the country (north to south in probably three hours).

Any real military?  No....at least compared to what the Ukraine had.

If you were asking me for a easy-to-invade status....here in this case, a hundred Russian tanks and 10,000 troops could probably take the country in 72 hours.

The invasion route?  Probably using Odessa as a starting point....just drive north on the M16 motorway.  From the Ukraine border....to the capital city of Moldovia....it's about forty miles.

Military equipment?  It's mostly hand-me-down stuff from the old Soviet Union days.

Chief problem for the Russians?  Well...back to that stupid long logistical 'path'....which they'd have to have an active logistical 'base' started up in Odessa and continually providing support.

On refugees?  Anyone's guess here, but with a population of 2.6-million and a fair amount of Ukrainian refugees already....it might be a serious situation where they all head into Romania....creating a chaotic mess.
