The War: 18 Mar 2022 (AM)

 1.  Brit Secret Service has made a comment....observing resupply efforts of the Russians in the Ukraine....it's a mess.  Food/diesel are marginally moving and it's taking a lot of effort to protect what does get moved into the heart of the Ukraine.

BS-factor?  I'd give a '4'.  There's no doubt that it's taking a lot of effort to move fuel and food 50 to 100 miles from the border to the 'front-line'.  Sustaining it?  It's taking more effort than imagined originally.

2.  Deputy Director of the Russian National Guard, General Roman Gavrilov, has resigned his office, and has been 'detained' (arrested is probably a better term).  Reason given?  Failures over the military operation.

3.  The EU announced this morning a more 'joint' effort to find assets of the Oligarch community and seize it.

4.  The German agency responsible for asylum applications....expects more Russians to step into Germany and ask for asylum.  Numbers?  None given.  It's more of a warning to the government officials and the general public....that a fair number of Russians won't be staying around to see what the future holds.

Odds of failing the asylum request and being sent back?  I'd give that presently near a zero-chance.

5.  Vice-Chancellor Habeck (Greens) going to Qatar/UAE this weekend to talk exports, and see if any deals can be made to lessen Russian energy sales.
