1. Last night, via ARD news....German cities are giving the federal government a 'warning'. In five years....approximately 230,000 positions will be 'empty'/vacant (because of retirements). They even admit presently, across the whole country....in terms of clerks for gov't positions....they are missing 100,000 people.
Bus-drivers? Same story. They figure retirement is coming up, and there will need to be some massive recruitment for 50,000 drivers.
Where will they come from? Unknown.
Use of AI to fill some of these positions? Maybe.
2. Another ARD piece discussed at length....the mental illness aspect of this Saudi terrorist over in Magdeburg. Key point? He kept showing 'hints' of mental illness, and no one really reacted...meaning the police, legal folks, or authorities.
To be truthful.....if you walked around the Frankfurt homeless district (Bahnhof district).....if they took stability as a serious matter....there would be a minimum of 200 folks rounded up in one day. But then....what would you do with them....long-term?
3. Pretty much decided now....public TV and commercial TV....will determine by their own 'rules'....who to invite for political debate....for the election.
A bit discouraging among some people.
4. 67-year-old Bremerhaven guy made a threatening video over the weekend (another Xmas-market event). Cops were notified quickly, and the guy was identified/detained.
Whether he was mentally unbalanced or not....unknown.
