It's an odd topic to bring up this WW II German operation and how it relates to today's mess.
In June of 1941....Operation Barbarossa (sometimes referred to as Operation Fritz).....was simply a push into western USSR, and was supposed to reach (control) Moscow by the high-point.
It's safe to say about 90 days into the push....the logistical weak points became apparent, and this operation was doomed.
Added to the logistical issues....brutal treatment of Russian civilians....added to the failures list.
As you turn today and look at Russia's logistical problems? Same story. The brutal treatment of Ukrainian civilians? Same story.
Complete repeat of the 1941 operation.
End date for Barbarossa? Roughly six months and two weeks later. From that point on....Germany's war was concluding and they could never recover.
