Four Odd Things You Notice

 1.  The Chancellor (Scholz) gave a speech yesterday and says he expects 4-to-5 new wind generators to be added 'daily' between now and 2030.

BS?  Well....once you get to the approval process and the months required to get one single wind generator approved for a site....it's a joke with his comment.

For the first half of 2022.....around 235 new generators were put up across Germany.  At best, you might hope in the range 600 per year.

2.  The German gov't has come to some agreement on a export license for the Leopard I tank.

For those who don't remember the series.....it was built and delivered in the 1965 to 1984 era....by Porsche.

There were roughly 4,000 of them built originally.

What remains now for this export license?  Well....if you dig into it....there's a depot building existing and it would appear that eighty sit there, but no one says much if they are operational or how much work would be required.

An asset for the Ukraine?  If you look at the quality that existed, and if these were delivered as operational tanks....they'd probably still a superior tank today.

3.  If you've ever been to a German pharmacy and bought medication.....you are aware of the info sheet within each box.

The font size?  This is usually the hot topic that most all Germans have.  I'd generally say that if you were lucky....the font is one-quarter of what you'd read on normal text....meaning without a magnifying class.....it's impossible to read.

Some university group out of the Saarland intends to take this on as a project.  Although their intention is to simplify the wording and avoid words that the typical German has no idea of the true meaning.  Where this ends up...is anyone's guess.

4.  In terms of ATM machines being blown up....in 2022....they reached the point where one machine is blown up daily....somewhere in Germany.

At some point, I expect ATM machines to have a significant charge added to them, and the public shifts in a dramatic fashion to a cashless society.

Footnote: my village bank is still undergoing renovation after the ATM machine there was blown up (six months ago, and they failed to get a single Euro from that machine).  Chatter indicates it'll take a full year to renovate the building and restore it to 'glory'.
