'Evil' Gamers?

One of the additional odd aspects of the Halle attacker has centered on the attacker's passion for video-gaming.

So the Interior Ministry (with their boss Seehofer from the CSU Party) wants to pursue a closer examination of the industry, the gamers participating, right-wing extremism and the amount of violence connected to the gaming industry.

Bound to upset some folks?  Yes, and I would expect some video-game violence commission to be formed with the general support of the Merkel coalition, and the Green Party.  By summer of 2020, they probably will issue a report centering on the violence, and the tendency of people to 'lose themselves' in gaming.

Is there a connection between radicalism or extremists in the right-wing, and video-gaming?  So far, no major study has ever been accomplished factual evidence to show two standing in the same 'shadow'.  It would be amusing if you lined up a hundred right-wing extremists (identified by the German police), and found that all one-hundred gamed a minimum of 25 hours a week.

But if that came out.....what would be your social repair situation?

I would suggest that if this goes to the commission level, and harsh criticism comes out in a year from a full-up study....it's going to open up a Pandoras Box. German political figures have this belief that you can craft programs and laws to resolve all problems, and I don't think the gamers will agree on that strategy, or that they are 'brain-washed' to be of a certain background.

This might be interesting to watch.
