Germany and Covid-19: 3 Jun 2021

 1.  I sat and viewed Focus news this morning.  One item that caught my eye.....the Lower Saxony state officials have come up and said that disco-dance halls may reopen....but the rule on dancing would be that you have to wear a mask.

I sat and contemplated this situation.  Johann meets up with some mystery German gal (Carla) and the DJ is playing 'What is Love' (Haddaway).  About halfway through the piece, Johann starts to get faint from lack of oxygen through his mask, and his excessive arms and legs swinging.  At the end of the song, he faints on the floor, and has to be attended by an ambulance crew.

For some reason, I don't see this mandated mask wear at a disco really working out.

2.  Discussion over booster vaccinations in the late fall?  Well....it came up this morning in the German news (Lauterbach made the comment).  For some, who just got their vaccination in the past six weeks....to already be told that six months might be the point where you have to get another stupid vaccination?  It'll make them ask a lot of questions.

3.  If you bring up Ischgl and Covid-19, most Germans will react to the conversation.  Ischgl is the Austrian ski village, where the first big 'burst' of Covid-19 occurred in the very early spring of 2020.  There was a ski-fest, where VIPs and big-time ski enthusiasts came in....got dosed up with Covid, and returned home to spread it around all of Europe.

An investigation has been conducted by the authorities (70 pages long).  They have five people in their mind who are responsible for the massive outbreak.  They aren't saying charges yet and they might avoid this entirely.

What Ischgl's event did?  I would suggest that big numbers that occurred in April/May of 2020.....took off in Europe because of the ski week.  Without Ischgl's event, it would have been a level trend until the fall, and then escalated.
