Spying

 For a long while, German journalists (politicians as well) have been hyped up over the US 'spying' upon Merkel and the German leadership.  In the last week, it's gone up a notch because they found that Denmark was helping the US in this effort.

Personally, I don't care....both the Chinese and Russians probably spy as much (if not more) upon Merkel and the whole crew.

But to resolve this whole mess....I have a suggestion.  It's something Kohl probably would have done.

I'd call in the German navy, and ask them to purchase a sea trawler of some type....big enough for a crew of forty-odd guys, and have the trawler fixed up with 300-odd antennas.  Then I'd go and sail it 12 miles off-shore of DC, and I'd let the rumor go out that special German technology has been developed and they could scan wi-fi and cellphone use from thirty miles away.

I'd have a special office named and manned in Germany, where fake PhD people were hired, and continually spread the rumor that they had various spy technologies developed....to 'catch' just about everything.

I might even appoint a Minister of Spying....as a fake job....to rattle them on this whole subject.  

Yes, it'd all be fake, bogus, etc.  But this spy chatter would start a whole bunch of 'what-if' discussions and the US would spend billions to counter a fake German collection program.
