11 March 2025: Eight German News Stories

 1.  It's a tough three days here.....no bus service in Wiesbaden for 3 days....strike action.

2.  German employers are complaining of a loss of billions in costs....reason.....sick leave rising.

3.  Riots started up in Romania yesterday....supporters of Calin Georgescu were peeved the Central Election Bureau had a meeting....then voted to bar the right-wing, pro-Russian candidate from the presidential.

Constitutional crisis?  Well.....whatever comes out of the election....will just get folks more disturbed.

Generally....if you viewed polls....Georgescu....with the numerous candidates running....was set to get around 40-percent of the vote (thus winning enough for a run-off).

4. I watched a update piece from Channel 1  (public TV) and it covered post-office complaints....2024 was a record year.

5.  My prediction on the Greenland election (today)?  There are five parties....to fill the 31 seats in the national assembly.  My humble guess is that the top two parties (the I-A and Slumut parties) will have the seats to set a referendum vote for independence...before summer.

Humble guess?  Between 60 and 70 percent of the public in that case will vote to  be independent.

As for feelings back in Denmark?  Utter shock, and disbelief.

6.  Health report I read....one out of three Germans has a iodine-deficiency.  I find it odd.....you'd  get it from eating a diet of eggs or fish...which a lot of northern Germans would have in  their diet.

7.   Just an odd Monday night with the 'Hard But Fair' public forum show....the new coalition badly needs Green Party support for their debt plans....but there's also a fair number of SPD folks who don't want a rearmament plan, which is a major goal off the CDU-CSU-SPD talks.

8.  8k Audi employees talked about....loosing their jobs possibly.
