Project Saaremaa?

This week....two German newspapers dug up a 5-star scandal-story.  Die Zeit, and  Süddeutsche Zeitung did a joint investigation.

So what they lay out....in simple text...alleging...that both Chancellor Merkel and Scholz...took a BND (German CIA) report on Covid, and locked it up.

What the BND concluded? By the end of 2020....with 80-to-90 percent reliability...that a 'accident' in a laboratory in Wuhan started Covid.

I emphasize here.....'accident'.  They are not saying anything beyond that.

Name of the BND report operation? ‘Saaremaa’.

It's being  talked about a good bit.....via regular news, and public TV news.

Making Merkel and Scholz appear 'goofy'?  Well....it begs the question....why hide the data....unless there's more to the story.

What happens next?  I would suggest....someone is going to ask the Bundestag for a full and complete release of 'everything' on Covid.  The key point?  What lab was this stored in, and who funded it.

All this Covid-reminding BS....angering folks?   We are around 2.5 years beyond where Covid dissolved as a threat....but in various groups, the topic will come up and it's highly negative/frustrating.

I'll admit....the wife and I can't discuss it without having some bitter German talk come out, and life-reminders over the complex rules invented...making no sense.  I still remember grocery-shopping...where we pulled up and parked...to find 'Yassir' (a bulky wrestler-type Iraqi guy wearing a  'SECURITY'  jacket and hat)....guarding the grocery door.  We stood in line, with store policy limiting entry to only 12 customers.  I peered off into the distance....dark clouds forming and heavy rain within 30 minutes.  I told the wife this waiting would not work. German stubbornness prevailed, and right as the rain started....'Yassir' gave us entry. I  refer to this story as the 'bouncer-rule'.  The bouncer-era lasted 6 weeks at the grocery.

By the end of 2022....I had lost about one-third of my patience/understanding. It's never come back.

This BND era might be an interesting twist to watch.
