In Case You Were Wondering

Over the past year, I've spoken a good bit about the Last Generation activists and their blocking of roads in Germany.

I noticed this past week....someone finally sat down and polled Germans to see how they felt.

ARD noted the numbers.

Roughly 85-percent of Germans polled....said 'no'....these protests were NOT justified.  Roughly 13-percent said 'yes', they were justified.

What is curious....when the protest first started (2019)....it was around 24-percent who said 'yes', they were justified.  So the pro-crowd has lost a fair number (almost half) of their support folks.

Absolute support from Green Party folks?  Well....that was another odd part of the story told....roughly half of Green Party members support the road blocking 'adventure'.  The others?  Not so much.

Where all of this is heading?  At some point, I expect the courts to go onto a harsh standing....sending road-blockers off to three-to-six months of jail-time, and I expect some members of the group to get more extreme in nature....going the Red Army Faction (RAF) route of the 1970s.

Trying to run a terror unit now...compared to the 1970s?  Well....there's been a lot of developments since the 1970s, and the government has tons of tools which didn't exist in the 1970s/1980s.  This might be a rough period for the activists.
