Electrical Story

I watched an interview on N-TV this AM....with the President of the Federal Network Agency (the power guys)....Klaus Müller.

So he laid out the future....if Germans go to the heat pump 'future'.  He expects an 'overload' to occur.  The grid isn't prepared for both heat pumps and private electric cars.

Basically, you'd have to have smart meters in homes, and certain items set to run in certain hours.  An example?  You'd have the heat pump to run to 10 PM, then shut-off.....with your E-car charging from that point to 5 AM.

Was this limit advertised much?  No.  It's a silly part of the whole discussion.  Up until this natural gas crisis.....no one was hyped up on heat pumps.

Massive control and mandates coming?  I would make a guess that in the next year or two....some forty-odd page report comes out and requires the smart meters, and suggest only certain key hours to run chargers for E-cars.
