In simple terms....the number of members of the Bundestag isn't written into stone. At some point (early 1990s)....things got out of control, and evolved almost every four years.
Presently there are 736 members of the Bundestag.
The SPC-coalition has promised to correct this. So there is a draft law going around.
The end number, if this passes? 598.
Proportionally, all of the parties holding seats....would lose.
Easily passed? If you view the chatter going on....it's not easily accepted. 138 folks are 'going home'....meaning they won't have the life of privilege in Berlin.
The challenged folks? The interior crew who arrange the seats/desks at the building. They will have to go and design a different seating arrangement....again.
When would the change occur? The fed election in 2025, unless the German Constitutional Court steps into the mess.
