Five German News Stories

 1.  Last night, via ARD's (Channel 1, public TV) public forum chat show....the Anne Will Show...featured a whole chat around the activists at the coal region in the NW of Germany.  If you haven't viewed the situation in the past week....literally several thousand police were brought in (from 14 states) to clear the area of the environmental activists.

From what I viewed....it was a somewhat balanced discussion (probably leaning over the 50-percent point to the activists).

Focus this AM talked about the forum, and they had the best quote....from guest Neubauer: "The end is made so great, that it justifies every means".....referring to the assault (rocks, stones, fireworks) on the police and escalating the violence at the protest site.

However, I should note this fact....for last night, NFL football was on, as well as the Konny Rheaman show, and a Jungle-Camp related show.  I would suggest that this was one of the least watched shows at the 9:45 PM to 10:40 PM period.

Footnote comment: Just a humble view, but successful societies/countries produce C02 in creative and abundant ways.  The less successful societies/countries view this path as the only way to achieve the same success.  The entire climate crisis invented....is built in such a way....to keep the little guy down.  Branding this message in the present method...is a doomed failure.

2.  Weird accident at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin last night....guy crashed his car into one of the columns.   Dead.  Cops investigating....almost looks intentional.

I will say, upon viewing the picture of damage to the car....the guy had to be driving over 100 kph upon impact.

3.  Hessen state leadership said over the weekend....they are now considering a lawsuit about the 'equalization' method used to dispense tax revenue to the sixteen states.  I should note....Bavaria is already leaning this way, and it's been openly discussed in Baden-Wurttemberg as well.

The heart of the matter?  There's a 'key' (method) used for over sixty years....where the fed gov't folks take the tax revenue, and dispense it within this 'key'.  Three particular states (Bavaria, Hessen and B-W)....make a ton of the total of the total package (from commerce in their states).  They don't get anything near that amount in return.

People have known the unfairness angle for several decades.  It's just that it's openly discussed now.

4.  This election reform law being discussed....will be legally challenged by the CSU Party out of Bavaria.  While the Greens, SPD and FDP generally support this enough....to pass...the court system may halt or hinder the law in the end.

5.  Continued rainfall across Germany for past two weeks.  Most rivers/streams are at the start of flooding.

Temperature in central region to drop 3 to 5 degrees (C) today.....snowfall predicted.
