Bundestag held a meeting today and agreed upon financial help for sports teams in Germany....to the tune of 200-million Euro.
To be spread around basketball, soccer, handball, and ice hockey......among the first and second league of each sport.
Women's sports? They can apply for money from the fund as well.
Dire situation? From the soccer side (at least going back to early May), from both leagues...fourteen clubs are close to bankruptcy proceedings.
Sports analysts aren't saying much. My guess is that it's enough to carry them to January 2021, and then some other compassionate money gift will have to occur. Without fans in the stands....a serious amount of capital is missing from each sport.
