This topic came up a good bit in 2022....which the usual answer was...NO.
At present, Germany has around 260 of the tanks....with a plan for purchase of around 60 to 70 more.
If you listen to Green Party and CDU/CSU Party chatter....they want the Scholz government to proceed ahead and provide 'some' Leopard II tanks over.
Scholz and the SPD position? No. It's a bitter line that would enrage the Russians.
Would twenty German tanks change the current war scheme? I doubt it. If this were seventy-to-a-hundred....maybe (at least on one single front, with terrain in your favor).
The other side of this discussion....once you donate these over...what exactly is Germany stuck with, in term of forced into a future buy-contract?
So presently, everyone is simply watching for the spring offensive of the Russians to start, and how this massive increase in Russian manpower changes the dynamics of the war (while missing over 2,000 Russians tanks....either captured, destroyed, or left in the field).
