Corona Chatter

Since this new German government regulation came into effect....requiring you, if you went to a 'hot-zone' to take a Corona-test with 72 hours, there's a fair amount of chatter going on.  Focus had an excellent article over the topic, and I'd recommend it.

Right off the bat, doctors are not that happy about the mandate and the effect on them.

If a patient calls them up and asks for the test....the only charge (by law) that they can make is 15 Euro, which doesn't really cover even the cost of protective-equipment.  Even the lab situation is marginal, with only around 50 Euro provided for the service.

The initial coverage/cost of this is supposed to be the insurance companies, but there's talk that a 'promise' was made in the deal, where billions (plural) of Euro will flow to the insurance industry to cover Corona costs in general....meaning you the tax-payer will cover the bill....one way or another.

If you are a immigrant or asylum seeker now arriving in the country?  Same story, within 72 hours, you are required to have the test done.  Cost?  Passed back to the government.

The number of tests done weekly now in Germany?  Focus says it's up to around 1.2 million, and it's kinda reaching a maximum capacity.  Some even suggest getting the swabs is starting to be a problem.

Finally, two drunk Dutch guys got on a KLM flight in Amsterdam and were heading to Ibiza (the vacation isle in Spain).  They took their masks off in the flight and refused to cooperate with the stewardesses, in putting the masks back on.  Other passengers got into the mess, and it more or less....turned into a brawl.  The plane landed, and the Spanish cops came onto the situation.

The two drunk Dutch guys?  If you read through the descriptions of the incident....there's enough charges to keep the two in a Spanish jail for at least a year.
