First School Opening After the Summer Vacations

One of the top stories from this morning's ARD (public TV, Channel One) is the fact that school is opening now after the summer holidays....at least in one German state, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, the far NE state along the Baltic coast.

The odds of the virus issues coming up?  That's the bulk of the chatter on this opening day story.

The key thing pointed out in this story....virtually every state has a different view of handling the situation over the virus.  The suggestion of masks in Mecklenburg?  Masks and social distancing will be part of the agenda.

If positive tests come up?  I would imagine within two weeks, some test result will come and bigger decisions will have to be made.

If they go to a month-long down-time?  Via the news media, it's broadly suggested that a digital course situation is still not mature enough to work.

How many kids are affected in this state?  153k.  You can do the math....tons of potential for the virus.
