Sneaking Around Taxes

Imagine a country that has invented 'short-work', where economic and Covid conditions exist, and full-time work isn't possible....so you use 'short-work' (a German government program) to have the employee show up for 40 hours out of the month, and the government (for a limited period of time) makes up for the missing 120 hours of pay.....at least bringing you up (presently) to 65-percent of your normal monthly paycheck (note: 80-percent will be the norm in the future).

You as the employee....have 120 hours of the month with nothing to really do.  You are being paid for a marginal amount....for nothing.

So you get smart.

N-TV told this business story here in the AM today, and it's a interesting twist.

Germans are taking up jobs, under the table, and being paid for those jobs.....while the government collects no taxation.

Even before Covid-19 came along, this was an issue, but now it's escalated (they figure a minimum of 10-percent).
