Cannabis Legalization to Occur in 2022 in Germany?

What N-TV said this afternoon.....the SPD, Greens and FDP folks have come to a basic agreement in their coalition deal.  Legalization of weed will occur in 2022.

There has to be standards written down, and that might consume a good bit of time.

Amount of money that the government thinks it'll generate (legal weed)? 4.7-billion Euro (roughly 5.4 billion US dollars).  Oddly, some of the generation of money...isn't tax revenue but just the avoidance of court cases and police time.

My humble guess?  Probably the regulation will be handed down to the states by fall, and shops probably opened near the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023.

Shocker?  I think when I see a dozen 'head-shops' or 'weed-coffee houses' open in Wiesbaden....it'll be an interesting sight.

Stealing a lot of business from the dealers?  Yeah....a fair sum of illegal business goes away.  But I don't think it'll be any cheaper....by the time you figure taxation....there's probably zero cost savings.
