Germany and Covid: 18 Nov 2021

 1.  Lot of hype occurring today....as the fed's and state government folks meet....to discuss the next round of Covid ban rules.  Announcement expected by 5 PM.

2.  Current 7-day infection rate?  336.  Yes, extremely high.  Past 24 hour new infections?  Just over 65,000, which is a record of sorts.

3.  If dismissals start to occur with those who refuse the vaccination business?  There's various rumors that the government will allow dismissals to occur.  What'll happen?  Various logistical and service sector operations will start to lessen and less service will occur.

You might walk into a grocery store which has 12 employees normally on duty and find only seven there.  You might stand at a bus-stop and find the route 9 bus only runs once per hour (not three times) because the drivers simply aren't there.  You might order a pizza and wait ninety minutes for delivery because the majority of delivery guys were let go.

4.  I sat last night and watched a news piece on German public TV  (ZDF) where they talked over some African country where 85-percent of the population is noted 'recovered' from Covid.  Yes, it was a massive thing, but oddly.....there weren't an incredible number of deaths, and then you realize....most of the people are now covered by natural immunity (thus not requiring the vaccination).

5.  German ski resorts preparing to open?  Well....yeah.  Even with the high rates of infection in Bavaria?  Yes.  You would think that they'd be on the top list to shut down.
