Around noon today, if you follow N-TV news (commercial German news).....the Bundestag is meeting and urging on a new law....which would identify various professions, and mandate if you work in x-profession, you have to be vaccinated.
Lot of talk going on and it's obvious that this probably won't pass today.
The general professions they are talking about to be vax'ed up? Medical and retirement home personnel.
So....if you went out and asked around all of these people.....how many are vax-ed up and how many are non-vax? No idea. You might have some indicator at the local level where a retirement home manager knows of the thirty-odd personnel....twenty are vax-ed up. But if you were looking for national numbers? Good luck with that.
The possibility that more eastern German nurses, ambulance folks and retirement home people are non-vax'ed? That might be true, but it's not factually proven.
How much of a mess would this create? Well....go imagine just in one state (like Bavaria), that you had 4,000 non-vax people in these profession groups, and they were terminated tomorrow because of a lack of cooperation. The amount of disaster this would create....in a matter of just 24 hours?
So I bring myself around to this situation....this idea being injected into a chaotic situation, and with unknown numbers existing....begs for a tremendous public mess for someone to clean up (in a hurry).
If the law gets finally passed? I would suggest a 24-hour type strike probably would occur (a week or two in the future), and freak out a number of politicians. There is no plan 'B' force of nurses, caretakers or ambulance drivers existing in the country. But we are at this point where politicians are in a desperate state of mind.
