For weeks, I've been observing the phenomime here in Germany with the Covid ban rule 2G-plus.....meaning you are vaxed-up or recovered, plus tested. Non-vax'ed people have no option in using a restaurant/bar/pub in this scenario. Business? There's little doubt that the 'evil-capitalists' who run the bar and restaurant business are suffering. I'd be guessing at least 20-percent (minimum).
So N-TV (commercial German news).....picked up the situation and did an update for this AM.
In Hamburg for example....some places have simply given up and shut down because they can't turn a profit in this 2G world. In their case, they only went to 2G-plus on Monday, and already seeing serious negative issues.
Hotels under the same umbrella? Yes. And they are also fairly negative.
A nationwide trend? Well....no. All this emphasis to go national failed because both Bavaria and Saxony-Anhalt said no. So the push on this ban-rule is across 14 states....not all of Germany.
Pressure now on the government to cover losses? That's the current view. Billions more for this period....out of the government.
