A directive handed down by the federal government for medical and care people....says that either you are vaxed-up or recovered (only good for 6 months) as of 15 March. If you meet neither condition....you are terminated (at least, that's the threat).
What really happens?
I would suggest around the first of March....there's going to be a HR huddle by various hospitals, and numbers start to get mentioned. Some retirement homes....might be only 50 to 60 percent within the mandate. Some hospitals? They might only be 75-percent within the mandate. So the shortfall chatter will start up.
Even if it were only 8-percent on the bad-boy status? Well....there's no one standing there ready to fill the terminated people as they exit, so it begs questions.
Personally, I think the federal folks will be begin meeting by mid-Feb and trying to rig up a solution....mostly suggesting that they will recruit from the rest of Europe....only to find that the people interested....aren't willing to do the vax thing either.
Will this end up as a defeat for the SPD-Green-FDP government, where they admit around the mid-March period that the mandate cannot be forced upon people? Unknown.
One solution might be.....to get almost every single nurse or care-taker in a position within the next 30 days....to get Omicron, and thus claim the 'recovered' status. The odds of this? Well....some virus experts say it's almost impossible to skip around Omicron.....indicating everyone will get it.
If you were looking at an interesting crisis period for 2022....I'd say that 15 March is going to be one of the top three of the year.

Great, because it's not like there's a shortage in health care at the moment. (sigh)
If you go to most retirement homes, and ask if they are 100-percent manned....it'll be impossible to find any structure that qualifies for this. I talked to a nursing-home gal (came from Czech to Germany, was taking the language class). Her job offer was unbelievably good, but she had to pass the language class.
Nurse-wise....they are already accepting Mexican/Philippine nurses (German language qualified) and will bend over backwards to find Syrian/Iraqi nurse-competent people.
So this 15 Mar threat is a massive and destructive strategy. I think late Feb....numbers will be added up and several states will just say that federal stance is wiped out and they won't allow this to occur. In the end, maybe Berlin-City, Hamburg/Bremen...will be the only places where this strategy is triggered.
