So this is a amusing piece on a critical and serious topic.
2G in Germany means a ban-rule that you can only enter a facility....if you are vaxed-up or recovered.
Recovered means....you had Covid, were tested via a PCR test, and you have a six-month period where you can walk into any bar/pub/cafe/restaurant, and get service. On the sixth month and first day....you lose 2G status.
Well....this morning, it came out via the German federal government....'recovered' will now mean 3 months....NOT 6 months.
Reasoning? Recovered typically meant regular Covid or Delta-Covid. Omicron-Covid is different, and they've found medical logic/reasoning to bump it down to three months.
This is another example (of dozens) how you have to monitor TV, radio, or mass media almost daily....because the rules change constantly.
Will this peeve some Germans? Yes, and they will cite this as a frustration point. But this is the reality of 2022....things change.
The odds that 2G will morph into another expression by November of 2022? Oh, I'd give it a 90-percent chance now....that the expression of 2G/3G will disappear, and some new phrase will be created by the end of this year.
