Today.....1 Euro will buy 15.76 Turkish Lira, or 1 Dollar will buy 13.87 Turkish Lira.
Ten years ago, a dollar would have bought around 1.5 Turkish Lia. In 2016, a dollar would have bought 3.48 Turkish Lira. Even a year ago.....a dollar would have bought you around 8 Turkish Lira.
So here's the thing.....there's a fair amount of attention to vacation costs going on, and a fair number of Germans are looking at unbelievable deals for airfare with two weeks in some luxury 5-star hotel with all meals included.
Halting at 15 Lira per 1 Euro? No. While the government of Turkey has done several things in the past month to slow down the problem....the best you can say is that it's slowed to some degree, but the problem continues on. Odds of a Euro buying you 20 Lira by the end of 2022? I would actually go and suggest the Euro-Lira situation to be closer to 22 by the end of 2022.
If you were around Germany in the summer of 2022, Turkish vacations will be the hottest deals on the market. It wouldn't shock me if some Germans were begging for three to four weeks of vacation time and attempting the 'deal' of a lifetime.
