Just Ten Odd Observations

 1.  I sat and watched German news last night, and they featured a 'chat' from Putin in the past twelve hours.  On my mega-screen TV.....his face took up about 50 percent of the screen.  So, you couldn't help but notice.....he's got an extremely puffed-up face.  I'd just suggest that he's on some steroids' for 'something'.

2.  Natural gas from Russia to Germany still flowing through the old pipe?  Yes, and that's fairly amazing with all the hardware/help that Germany is providing.  But presently, this is probably the only cash-flow that they can depend upon.

3.  One of the coalition partners stood up yesterday and openly suggested that a national policy for Germany....should mandate that no gas-country-partner...should be allowed to exist with more than 30-percent of the national gas situation (meaning the Russians would trimmed out).  Odds of this idea happening?  A year ago?  Zero.  Today, I'd say it's a 50-50 chance, and maybe even Turkey would like to get in on the action to sell natural gas to Germany.

4.  Disney/Sony says no more films of theirs.....being shown at Russian theaters.

5.  A supposed 60 km long military convoy of tanks/troops nearing Kiev (this morning).....on one single highway.  I just sat there and remembered the road out of Kuwait...leading to Iraq, and how the convoy got stopped at the very beginning and no real way to go anywhere else.

There's a fair amount of anti-tank weapons now in the Ukraine, with Stinger missiles to handle the helicopters.

6.  I've heard at least five different 'Doctor Dooms' over the past 24 hours (Brit news, France-24, and German networks) say that Putin is illogical and not the person he was ten years ago.  This neo-Nazi thing that he keeps bringing up....makes him look awful foolish.

7.  Continued operation of the three German nuke plants past the end of 2022?  This idea coming from within the Green Party?  Yeah, rather shocking.  All of this goes to the idea that there is Russian coal bought for the coal-fired German plants, and they want them eliminated.  Has to be a fair number of Green Party folks less than thrilled over the idea.

8.  During the night, the Ruble was selling at 105 Rubles per dollar.....this morning, it's near 95 Rubles per dollar.

9.  Some Putin-show occurred yesterday, with a cabinet meeting.  Here was the exceptionally long table and six ministers at the end....bunched up, and here was Putin at the other end.  You could tell this was all awkward for the ministers, and the camera would go back and forth....showing only Putin, then the six.  Weird.

10.  Google-pay and Apple-pay are terminated in Russia.  No one ever expected that.
