Four German News Stories

 1.  Focus had a curious piece today.....one of the doctor associations came out over the weekend to suggest it's time to have a 'fee' if you come to the emergency room, and what you present is not considered an emergency.

Driving this?  The doctors say there are way too many showing up, with non-emergency issues at emergency rooms.

How much of a fee?  Well....lot of talk but they never mention a particular amount.

I suspect the intent here is that the insurance company would be told this was not classified as a true emergency room visit, and some additional fee would be called in....maybe something like 100 to 200 Euro....which the insurance folks wouldn't pay, and it'd get settled upon you (the consumer).

2.  FC Bayern continuing their effort to bring Brit soccer star Harry Kane there?  Yes, although I don't have the impression that he really wants to play for the team.

3.  Manja Schreiner, a CDU 'Senator' for Berlin is the next target for the thesis people.  Her university paper from about 15 years ago is being contested.

4.  Wacken-concert-2024 already being planned?  Yeah.  Thirty-three bands have signed up for weekend concert.  In fact, all of the 80-odd-thousand tickets have been now sold (took 4.5 hours).  The bad weather and mud from this year?  Didn't disappoint anyone much.
