Back in 2005...in Berlin....the Holocaust Memorial was wrapped up and presented to the public. It was a 'big-deal'. Almost on the same week of the opening....folks came to note 'cracks' in the Memorial setting.
For 18 years....the cracks have been obvious and the site has needed some kind of renovation.
The other side of this story? Around 28-million Euro were spent for the Memorial.
This week....the city came to acknowledge that something has to occur in terms of fixing the situation. What they didn't say....was the cost factor. If this came to some 30-odd million Euro? I'm guessing a lot of people will ask stupid questions.
