Three Odd German Stories

 1.  About ten days ago, the ARD nightly news people (Tagesschau)....went and did a long piece on the grocery operation 'Penny', and how they had done a special pricing deal.

In this piece, there's a 30-second interview with some lady at the grocery....giving you a descriptive explanation of what was happening.  Customer-lady....I should state.

Well....a day or two passed, and someone stood up and said....'hold on'.....that customer-lady is a WDR (public sub-TV network) employee.

So whatever praise that the lady had for the Penny pricing business....was bullshit.  This has triggered a fair amount of criticism, and questions put up....have you done this before in using fake interviews?

It is a bit funny (my humble opinion), but I would imagine they were hard-pressed to find anyone who said positive words over the upsurge of Penny prices, and so they just invented this fake customer to tell part of the story.

2.  German ladies soccer team finished at the ladies World Cup?  Yeah, and it has generally affected viewership here in Germany.

3.  Lufthansa says at present pace, they are at 85-percent of profits prior to Covid (2020).  It's not the end, but they are getting fairly close to it.
