Q-and-A

 1. Is EuroLeague basketball better than the NBA?

Earlier in 2023....I sat and watched two EuroLeague games.  I've come to the opinion that among the 18 teams in the league...I think half the teams (like Monaco or Madrid for example) could take on any NBA team and probably beat them 50-percent of the time.

Yeah, it's a different style, and the crowd involvement in the game is way more passionate than what the NBA has.

Shorter season to the negative?  Well....yeah, to me this is a major issue.  It's around 32 games per 'season'.  On the other hand, you could ask if the NBA teams are burned-out by the end of their season with so many games.

2.  Are Germans 'happy' over the coalition gov't (SPD-Green-FDP)?

Well....polling by ARD (public TV) this week says that only around 20-percent of Germans are satisficed with the current gov't situation.

3.  What's the real issue of deportation of migrants in Germany about?

Once you declare yourself, and submit the paperowork....it goes to a federal office, but you (the migrant) are deemed then the issue of a state government apparatus...NOT the federal government.

From that day on....it's your local state that minds you.

Once the fed office fails you on the application?  Well....they hand it to the state government.  Various states (16 total) have differing attitudes about deporting people.  X-state might decide they will just keep fumbling the deportation....another state will go the opposite direction.

Presently, we are in a evolving stage where the fed folks want to take over, or manage deportations themselves, and some states are arguing about this 'power.

4. Love Parade disaster still remembered?

This weekend, it'd be 13 years since the situation occurred in Duisburg. In the 'trample situation'.....21 died and roughly 600 were wounded.  Might take a whole generation to forget the weekend.
