In recent days, with the Chemnitz riot business going on....the Berlin political folks (all of the various parties except the AfD)....have gotten hyper over the idea of monitoring (they mean overseeing their phone calls, having some guys track the leadership, and reviewing where their money comes from. So far, no one has signed off on the AfD being monitored.
However, yesterday....it came up that the two youth groups of the AfD (both in east German states) were on the list to be signed off on, and monitored.
So today, a curious thing happened today. The two youth groups (designed for younger voters of the AfD....ages 18 to 25) signed the paperwork and disbanded. Done.
Officially, they don't exist and therefore the legal paperwork is null and of no value now.
Will that end the the AfD youth groups in these two states? Well...see, they will still meet at some pub once a week and talk over party politics, except now they won't be official. Getting search warrants on private individuals? Well....it's a bit more difficult. You need to state some threat over Joe, or Frank, or Huns. It's just not that easy.
All the hyped-up folks? Well....they more or less chased folks out into the open.
