Berlin Tragic Story

I sat and reviewed an N-TV news item (German commercial news) this morning, and came to this one piece.  A rather odd and bad story.

The story started out with Bild and the Berliner Morgenpost.....reporting over a 10-year-old kid in Berlin....being raped by another 10-year old kid.   Yes, both males.

The way this story is described....some type of school trip was carried on by the local school in Berlin back in the early summer period.

Two 11-year-old kids were involved, and helped to hold down the victim kid.  In addition, two other kid stood there and observed the whole thing.

What the authorities say is that a friend of the victim-kid....ended up telling a social worker about the event.  The authorities then got involved and had to go report this to the parents, and the school.

Authorities now say that the kids involved (the rapist, and the two kids who held down the victim)....were expelled from the school at the beginning of the class year.  In a simple text release, they state the obvious....they've exhausted all legal possibilities with these kids.

The rapist kid?  The news media suggests (no confirmation) that he's a immigrant from Afghanistan. The two other kids?  One from Syria, and one from Afghanistan.  No one says anything about the nationality of the victim kid, although I doubt seriously that he's German....he's probably an immigrant as well.

The thing that gets me about this story....N-TV got to the point of the story and was blunt about this....the rapist kid had behavioral problems and had shown himself over and over with other kids to be 'out-of-place' (my term for a kid who needs to be in a facility on a permanent basis and not around the general public).

What happens now?  The youth welfare folks are involved and assessing the psychological standing of the rapist kid.  I would suspect that public schooling for this kid is finished, and he'll have to be held in some facility with a private tutor on a permanent basis until he is 18.  At that point?  Maybe they might find some way to hold him but I suspect he'll be released into the general public and repeat his behavior again, until the authorities wise up and realize the threat that exists with him as an adult.

Might he be older than 10 years old?  Well....nothing of any substance can indicate that.  But you just look over his behavior demonstrated, and wonder if he might be actually fourteen or fifteen.  Silly me for even thinking that but I just can't imagine too many 10-year old kids going to this extent of behavior.
