The Fake Juvenile Story

There is a murder trial taking place in Flensburg (far north of Germany) which has some curious situations attached.

First, it's another case of a German (female) being killed by a non-German (in this case, an Afghan).  And yes, it's another stabbing (it's a growing statistic)....fourteen stabs are recorded.

Second, the case opened yesterday with some chatter about the guy's age.  He says he's seventeen and should then be treated as a juvenile.  If held to that....he'd probably not get more than ten years in a German prison.

So we come to the whole age discussion.  Here, it gets interesting.

The German cops say that the original asylum application came up in Hamburg....oddly, under a different name....back in 2015.  Course, if you used that as the true application, then he'd been fourteen years old.  But on that application, he identified himself as an adult.  The suggestion here is that the guy is actually 29 years old.  Some tests and exams have been conducted, and they all tend to agree on his age being 29.

Why go and do a second application with a different name and younger age?  As a juvenile, there's virtually zero chance of your application being turned down. 

Why this matters now?  Well....as an adult, you'd get twenty years in prison if convicted.

Then we come to the dead girl.  Oddly, she had family issues and the local social office had decided to put her out on her own....authorizing money for an apartment.  As this relationship developed with the Afghan guy, there's some point where she realizes he's now more of a problem, and she actually went to ask for help from the police (at least six weeks prior to the murder). No one says much over the police 'help'.

How many fake juveniles exist in the German system?  Unknown.  A number of Germans will bring up this topic and center their blame back upon the Berlin-leadership.  The minute that juvenile foreigners were given some 'free-pass'.....it opened up a door where fake ages were a part of the game.  The sad thing about this age faking....you might have various 29-year old folks pretending to be 16 or 17 years old, and in the decades ahead....as they approach their fake age of mid-60s, they won't be able to work to the extent required, because in truth....they are now into their mid-70s.
