How The New Covid 'Regulation' In Germany Is Lining Up

Well....the draft proposal by the Health Minister (Karl Lauterbach)....says you will be considered 'vaxed' and free of the regulated situation....if you do the 'booster' every three months.

What's he mean by regulated situation?  If you are non-vax....you will run into some situation at restaurants, bars, sports events, culture things, theaters, etc.

This has to be agreed upon by the coalition partners (SPD, Greens and FDP).  You won't know the results until probably mid-September.

Will Germans volunteer for a quarterly vax?  Out of every hundred folks.....I would guess that 20-percent will have zero problem in doing this, and be hyped-up to meet this demand.

From the remaining 80-percent?  I'd say around half will simply not comply in any form, and if you hinder them....they won't spend money, and the economical negativity will stretch through another winter.  The other half?  They might comply here in October to get some Christmas benefit, then halt any further cooperation for January through March.....meaning they won't spread their money in that period.

A positive thing?  No....it sends a message to the health folks and the coalition government that there is a limit to public cooperation.

Actual proof that the vax situation is only good for one quarter?  This gets discussed in public forums, and the only thing you can say is that it differs....person to person.  It's been known for at least a year that if you were rather bulky/chunky....your fat content lessens the effective nature of the vaccine.  So your protective situation is a lot less than a lean and trim guy/gal.

Can the German economy survive another winter of marginal public life and spending?  A lot of small bar/pub operations will tell you that this is a poor way of running a business.

So, I have my doubts that the quarterly vax deal will pass as is, and maybe they even admit that the six-month routine would be 'enough'.

If you walk around presently at various German fests (I've been to two in the past ten days).....large crowds assemble, drink up on beer or wine, and wear no masks.  There ought to be a ton of Covid going on, but the numbers just aren't there.  It is a chatty subject, I admit....but frankly....everyone has had enough of the shutdown business.
