Scandal-wise, it's probably reached a '8' now at this point.
If you haven't followed it....the 'CEO' of the public TV network for Berlin (RBB) went and spent a fair amount of money without true supervision, and it's attracted a lot of negative attention.
This morning, BILD spoke to the legal aspects. RBB, in order to dump Patricia Schlesinger as an executive....has serious problems with the termination notice of the contract. They've gone to hire around a sixteen lawyers. Who is paying for the lawyer help? Well....the people who pay the TV tax.
Then there's the issue of these secretive bonuses that RBB handed out. It does not appear that anyone in the ARD empire knew about these. Amount? The suggestion is that Schlesinger's past year had a six-figure bonus. Oddly enough....RBB says they don't have a bonus program.....they have a goal program. If you accomplish goals....you get extra money. So it's just not called a bonus.
The term 'lack of guilt'? This got brought up by ARD news reporters in trying to assess Schlesinger presently. I would suggest that they think she's been caught doing something, and feel she should just admit guilt and move on....as a normal guilty person.
However, my suspicion is that she views herself at the same level as other public TV bosses, and they all do the same thing.
At the end of this scandal....I would suggest some type of full-up audit will occur, and a dozen other folks from across the public TV empire will be let go.
