Q-and-A

 1.  Just how big a target will the LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) terminals being built....become?

Using a scale of one-to-ten....probably a 'twelve'.

The German Minister of Interior had a talk yesterday and said there's major concern over the safety....once built and being used for the LNG freighters.  I would imagine a force of 500 guards (both state people and contracted folks) to be required when the vessels are unloading.

2.  Natural gas reserves up?

From N-24, they say the tanks are now at the 75-percent rate.  That's not enough for the whole winter, at a normal usage rate.....but it's a lot better than things were three months ago.

3.  Where will the public TV scandal go onto?

Well....it'll take a year for the police to investigate and determine charges.  The fact that the Board of Governors and RBB Board provided marginal supervision?  That will linger a long while.

I suspect a full audit will be conducted, and forty different issues will be found with ARD's empire.  To suggest it'll be only RBB that suffers in the end?  No.....all of them will be facing some tough issues.

4.  Some folks suggesting the idea of going to Turkey for a long winter vacation to avoid heating costs?

Well....this started up with analysts looking at typical vacations in Turkey and realizing that you could (as a retired couple) could go off to Turkey for ten weeks....turn your house heat down to 10 C (50 F)....and the vacation costs would be the same as the heating cost.

Now, the only way this works (humble opinion), you find a deal for a 4-star beach vacation resort, where it'd normally be with air-fare and all-inclusive hotel deal for 450 Euro for two weeks.  So you chat with the Turkish vacation folks....getting a ten deal for something in the range of 2,000 (a person).

Normally, this would be crazy and stupid.  However, if your added up December, January and February.....with the heating estimate of 2022....with potential suggestions of 19C for your home heat (maybe even less), then this 10-week idea is not so crazy.

Wouldn't surprise me several thousand Germans signed up and attempted this long-extended vacation.

5.  All these dead fish appearing in the Oder River region....killed by mercury poisoning?

NO.  Experts now say it was the salt content in the river changing.

6.  Gesamtmetall President/'boss' saying 18 C for home temperature would not cause you to freeze?

He is correct, however, no one will agree to this for bathroom heat.

I will add....it's odd how this home temperature chat is going on almost nightly on TV now.
