This morning, our regional public news network (HR) had a brief discussion going on about transport industry in the state, and this new idea....a fine having nothing to do with state fines.
The deal?
Presently, the state of Hessen already has a mask fine...if you shop in a store, ride a bus or train, or sit at a bus-stop waiting for your bus....you have to wear the mask. Failure to obey the regulation? 50 Euro. Payable to the local city where you violated the rule.
So the new discussion is that local transport companies would have fine-capability on their own. If their ticket-audit guy found you on the bus with the mask under your nose.....he could issue the fine paperwork right there, and you'd pay them (not the city). Amount of the fine? Left out......one would assume it'd be 50 Euro as well.
