April 2020 Localized Covid History

 1 Apr: 184 cases of Covid are confirmed in Wiesbaden so far.

2 Apr: Uniform fines are set up for violation of Covid rules in the city.  If you came from a high-risk area and didn't do the standard wait-and-see quarantine....500 Euro per person.  Violation of the ban of providing entertainment?  Anywhere from 500 to 5,000 Euro.

5 Apr: 4th death within the city reported, 75 year old male.  

7 Apr: 5th death within the city reported, 89 year old male.

8 Apr: 6th death within the city reported, 86 year old.  152 residents are now considered 'recovered.

11 Apr: New city regulation.  If you've been outside of Germany, you must contact the Health Department and 'report' yourself.  The regulation says you need to self-contain yourself in the home/apartment for 14 days.

14 Apr: Police in the city suggest with marginal traffic....people staying home to a great extent....speeding is taking place....so they want to more closely monitor traffic.  Police also report 46 violations of the two-person in contact rule.  Deaths seven and eight are reported: 59 year old man, and 72 year old woman, both had previous illnesses.  

15 Apr: 75 year old Wiesbaden woman reported dead (number nine) from Covid, had previous illness.  

18 Apr: A group of eight are 'cornered' by the police in a Wiesbaden pizzeria....eating pizza....against the public rules.  For the eight....the fine is typically 200 Euro.  For the business owner....fines will start at 500 and go up to 5,000 Euro.

20 Apr: Entering the fifth week of 'emergency status' of the city.  Local tested positive so far, 283.  

21 Apr: Announcing today...masks will be mandated on 27 Apr...when in buses, trains, stores (still open), etc.  Anything can serve as a mask (shawls, handkerchiefs, etc).  Surgical type masks suggested but not mandated?  Short supply and via Amazon, the prices have escalated.  Failure to wear any covering?  50 Euro fine.

24 Apr: Tenth victim reported, 89 year old woman, no known previous weaknesses.

29 Apr: Group of local tourism operations demonstrate because of the loss of business due to Covid.
