June 2020: Local Covid History (Wiesbaden)

 2 June: 17th death reported in the city.  89 year old male, with previous illnesses noted.  Total number of infections to this date: 448, with 385 of them recovered.

4 June: City has had five days straight with no new infections noted.

5 June: 18th death reported in the city.  87 year old male, with previous illnesses noted.

7 June: 19th death reported in the city.  87 year old female, with previous illnesses noted.

8 June: 1 single new infection detected in the city.  It brings the total of quarantined at this point to 29.

9 June: 20th death reported in the city.  87 year old male.  

10 June: City announces pools to reopen on 15 June.  Ten people are now allowed to meet in person....in public places.  Kids are told for classes....the 1.5 meters distance is mandatory.

16 June:  Corona warning App is announced (Germany-wide application).  You download it to your smartphone and agree to conditions.  It tracks your movement and applies a set of conditions....if you stand near someone who is identified as ill with Covid, for a matter of two minutes, within a certain amount of space.

17 June: 21st death reported in the city.  85 year old male, with previous health conditions.  Two newly infected people are reported, with a total of 468 infections since day one.  

21 June: 22nd death reported in the city.  71 year old male.  

29 June: City bus organization announces that drivers will start opening the front door once again, and will be allowed to sell tickets.  For approximately four months, your only choices of tickets were a e-ticket (via your smartphone) or via a machine on the street.  Buses have been changed to have a plastic screen between the driver and passengers.  There are only six active cases of Covid in the entire city presently.
