The Odds of Shutdown Again In Germany?

I sat and watched N-TV this morning (commercial news in Germany).  The chatter over Covid?

The new infection rate (this morning) is 213.7 (per 100k residents).  Note.....highest national rate since day one.

The other rate which is significant?  Admission to hospitals over Covid.  That is reported to be 3.93 (per 100,000 residents).  This is fairly hefty as well, but under the 15.5 rate of Christmas period last year.

So to the obvious question....logically, the numbers would lead people to start discussing if the politicians will go to the standard shutdown agenda.  The spring 2020 episode, and the Christmas-period (2020) were shutdowns.

Presently, it won't surprise me if we see the infection rate reaching up to 250-to-300 by mid-December.  The only thing that would halt that discussion....would be a shutdown.

Public acceptance of a shutdown?  Well.....after the second big shutdown, I'd say that about one-third of the general public aren't that receptive or happy over the idea.  The police?  They've had the task in the past to hunt down the 'bad-boys' who violate the shutdown rules.  The police aren't that happy over the role, and it's just building up more resentment of the situation.

My humble guess is that we will get to the early part of December with exceptionally high infection rates, and high admission to hospital rates....triggering the politicians to save everyone by shutting down society once again.....blaming the non-vax crowd (fewer than 15-percent of Germany) for all the woes.

Get used to it.....this will be a yearly routine.
