I sat this morning....reading over a Focus piece...which discussed the quality (missing quality really) of Covid 'quickie' tests sold at local grocery or pharmacy shops.
So, some smart PhD guys have gone and tested over 100 test kits available on the market. About 75-percent performed as advertised. The other twenty-five percent? Crap.....false-positives were entirely possible.
The fact that a majority of these test kits are Chinese-made? Only a small number manufactured in Europe?
Regulating this business? Presently, the EU only mandates the companies test their kits. Come May of 2022.....there will be a EU unit that checks the kits and if you were to fail....they'd probably move to dissolve your product from European sales.
Should you worry about this? Well...if you go to the link I put above....you can read the report, and assess the better (high quality) products, and those are probably the ones that you might want to buy.
Would I use the 'quickie' tests (normally costing around 3 to 4 Euro per kit) on a weekly basis? If I had a sniffle or some funny cough.....yeah.
