I noticed this question off Twitter: Do stupid people ever hit a point in their life, where they realize they're stupid?
I would humbly suggest the answer of 'NO'. Such people are in some 'gear' situation and progressing through life, without shifting or reversing their way.
Later, they might reach some level where they want to claim victim-status....enjoying your sorrow or screwed-up respect.
