For those who haven't followed the 'changes'....there's this massive project on paper....to dissolve Tegel Airport (Berlin) completely.
What comes then? 5,000 apartments (at least that's the plan).
The curious side of this? All of the property for this development has not been settled (currently owned by property speculation folks). So the city council is working to convince the private owners to give in, and sell to them....to make the 5,000 apartment project happen.
My humble view? The city over-drafted this idea and what the airport property (that they control) can sustain is about two-thirds of the 5,000 number.
All of this discussion....delaying things? Oh yeah. I doubt that you will see any of these apartments until 2030 (earliest) and maybe even 2033.
