Five Observations Over the Palestinian-Israel 'War'

 1.  While Hamas may think they are prepared for a brief battle....they don't have the assets or ability to sustain any real 'war'.....Israel does.

2.  Back when BLM (Black Lives Matter) started up.....I watched a video of a Brit who'd  gone to Gaza for a week and walked around.  He summed up the local conditions as residents seemed to continually hold some 'victim-card' and were consumed to talked about their victim-feelings all day long.

I suspect the bulk of residents in Gaza....having nowhere else to go....feel imprisoned in some way, and having Hamas around....gives some brief feeling that they might achieve something.

3.  Where the Hamas guys got training?  I would imagine somewhere in the past year....they went by boat up to Lebanon, and the Hezbollah folks gave them training.  The weapons?  It's still openly discussed that most probably came from Afghanistan.  Maybe it's true....maybe it's BS.

4.  How this attack occurred without Mossad, or the CIA/NSA folks knowing anything?  Unknown.  Some brief comment came up via Egypt yesterday.....they had an indicator or two.....trying to talk to Israel last week, and no interest  came out of the warning.

5.  A lot of hype in the Arab communities of Germany, and a limited amount of patience by Germans over the behavior.  In one case from yesterday....some Arab-German kid tried to bring the Palestinian flag into the classroom.....teacher engaged, and a violent assault occurred (in Berlin).

They got their weapons from Afghanistan. All the stuff the US left behind. When we pulled out of Vietnam, we torched everything or made equipment unusable.

Through the 1990s...there was always a 'plan' in existence where if your base was to 'fall'...anything of value was made 'broke'. For Afghanistan, that seemed to be null and void. I get the impression that some lobbyist got to the Pentagon staff, and convinced them of leaving the weapons intact. Would be interesting to have a Senate hearing on this, but I doubt that anyone wants to admit how they got this advice.

Part of me also believes the CIA told them to leave the weapons....in some hope of using them later in Syria or Iran.
