In most German cities, there's a regulation....if you build an apartment building, you have to provide one parking space (usually under the building). Cost? Figured presently at 30,000 euro per spot.
So the Bundestag is discussing federal law, mandating that cities and states can't mandate parking in New construction.
I pondered upon this. Maybe in Hamburg and Berlin...folks might be somewhat careless. Around Frankfurt, i'd guess that 10 percent might be this way. But the majority would have a vehicle.
A new building erected, and having trouble with getting tenants? Yeah, I could see a problem.
All this chatter to reduce cost of building? Yeah.
