German Gas Prices To Spiral Upward?

There's talk  that German gas prices will escalate.

Current pricing?  For E10, near the 1.78 to 1.85 Euro (per liter).

Cause of this worry?  The EU is pushing European emissions trading, and the general feeling by the experts is that gas will rise 38 Euro-cents.  This means....at a minimum....a liter of E10 will run 2.16 Euro.

Yeah, its a big rise, if this occurs.

Affecting the tax rate as well?  Well....you could make the case that 2.16 would really be 2.30 or more in the end, and that would shock most Germans.

Creating more inflation?  Absolutely.

But the same rise would trigger airline prices to escalate....and grocery prices as well.

Currently $3.04 a gallon here in Hampton Roads. Double that for the left coast.

German gas prices go up, and they go down. Whether they realize it or not....there is a glass-ceiling existing.

The only bothersome thing about this...is this invented emissions trade stuff (to be pushed by the EU). About twenty years ago...this carbon trading business was attempted and what transpired quickly...was an Italian group who figured out how to laundry massive amounts of money using the public trading business.

It was talked about for a week or so....went to court quietly, and then everyone kinda stopped talking about it. The mafia guys probably got smarter about this and this new emission trading scheme is probably developed with layers of corruption.
